Description of the Item

Fall-top secretary in rosewood veneer with canted corners and a grey marble top. Secretary opens with one top drawer and below this drawer is a front-leaf desk panel. At the bottom are two door panels. Secretary is decorated with beautiful bronze triglyph and key plates.

The work is typical of east of France in the style of Louis XVI (1760-1789) even if the assembly suggests that this furniture was completed at the end of the 18th century or early 19th century.

Louis XVI secretaries are exceptional pieces of art because of the marquetry and bronzes. The fall-top panel marquetry in “Ailes de Papillon” (butterfly wings) and the bronze triglyph gives this unit an amazing beauty that will enlighten your decor.
