Description of the Item

Worktable in mahogany veneer. It opens with two drawers and is supported by double "S" shaped legs with a lower shelf. The top surface is curved-in.

A table travailleuse (worktable in French) was usually designed to keep sewing utensils such as needles and thread. The curved-in top helps to hold any small piece.

The style and assembly of this table suggest French mid 19th century work probably just at the end of the Louis-Philippe (1830-1848) period when tables of such shapes and dimensions were particularly popular. Table is an easy to fit piece that will decorate any room.
