Description of the Item

Drop-front, cherrywood 19th century secretary covered with a St Anne Gray Marble. Secretary has a top drawer above a front-leaf panel and three wide drawers below. Once the desk opens, it reveals a surface covered with Havana leather and smaller drawers.

This work is typical of the Louis-Philippe (1830-1848) period. After the Restoration (1815-1830) period, craftsmen started to use slightly darker, warmer woods, such as cherry. Furniture became more practical for use with multitude of drawers.

This secretary will enlighten any interior and easily accommodates any surrounding décor.
