Description of the Item

Rectangular Gueridon (Pedestal Table) in Mahogany and Mahogany veneer. The tilting top surface is decorated by a needlepoint tapestry representing a "corbeille a fleur" (flower basket) topped with a bird.

This tapestry is placed under a glass plate to protect it from everyday use of the table. The table tripod foot is decorated in its uper section with twisted cabling.

This piece may be used as a wall décor with its top surface tilted vertically or used horizontally as a table. This piece may safely be used as a table because of a glass plate top. The tapestry is over 120 years old.
